City Planning Commission approves Toyota of Hollywood redevelopment

📰 What Happened: The Los Angeles City Planning Commission approved a redevelopment proposal for Toyota of Hollywood, transforming it into a mixed-use complex. The project includes a 35-story residential tower, office buildings, and commercial space. Despite appeals from CREED LA and a neighboring property owner, the commission denied objections and moved forward with the development.

🔍 A Closer Look: The redevelopment, spanning 3.7 acres, will feature 350 apartments, office space, and commercial areas. Houston-based developer Hines leads the project, which includes affordable housing incentives, providing 44 very low-income units. The design by OfficeUntitled features a village-like environment with public open spaces, enhancing community engagement.
